About the studio

Hi! I’m Dagny.

A pawtrait is more than a picture — it’s a way to hold them still. I want to make photos of pups people hang in hallways, tuck into wallets, and share with their friends and family for years to come.

I started Vanity Fur because I believe every dog has a face worth stopping for. Sessions are energetic, treat-fueled, and always on the dog’s schedule. That’s when the magic happens! Every session is a collaboration between you, me, your dog, and the light capturing their every expression.

Studio based in Silverlake, with select Paw Pups across Los Angeles and Austin, TX.

Hosting a party, launch, or fundraiser? I’ll pack up the studio and pop up at your venue — portable backdrop, proper lighting, and a gallery of portraits for every guest and their dog.

to know.

Where is the studio?

A quiet, light-filled private space in Silverlake, Los Angeles. You’ll get the exact address once your session is booked.

Will my anxious dog be okay?

Almost certainly. We go slow, take breaks, and there are a lot of treats. Some of the best portraits in the gallery are of dogs who arrived nervous and left relaxed.

When do I get my photos?

A private online gallery within two weeks. Additional downloads and prints available to order any time after that.

Can I add more dogs or people?

+

Yes — extra pups, humans, or time can always be added. Reach out before booking and we’ll build something custom.

What should I bring?

Their favourite treat, a favourite toy, and anything that helps them feel like themselves. Leashes are welcome and easy to edit out.

What’s your cancellation policy?

Sessions are non-refundable, but we never want you to lose your investment. You can reschedule up to 48 hours before your appointment, or keep the value as a credit toward a future session or gift it to someone else. Life happens — reach out and we’ll always try to work something out.

Bring your dog for a studio portrait at Golden Mean. Each mini session includes one edited portrait, a digital gallery of all shots, and the option to purchase more online.

Limited to one pup per session. Non-refundable, but transferable as credit toward a future studio session. Walk-ins welcome as space allows.

What’s a Paw Pup?

A traveling version of the studio. I pack up the backdrop, proper lighting, a stack of treats, and set up at a venue for the afternoon — dog bars, retail stores, restaurants, fundraisers for rescues.

Guests bring their dogs for a quick editorial mini-session. Each dog gets one finished portrait plus a full digital gallery to look through. Additional downloads and prints available after.

It’s the fastest, friendliest way to get a real portrait of your dog — and an excellent party, whether you’re hosting or dropping by.

Round up your friends and come over to Lucky Lab for Lucky's Spring Fling on April 20! Friends from @pawsshelter will be there with a bus full of the cutest adoptable dogs you've ever seen. There will be yard games, coffee specials, and local vendors. 15% of all proceeds benefit PAWS!

Vanity Fur will be doing a Photo Booth on site! Mini sessions (5–10 minutes) for $25. 15% of all proceeds will be donated to PAWS! Lucky Lab Flagship, 2421 San Antonio St, Austin TX.
